CDE's wordingThe following combinations for FUND and FUNCTION are invalid. Data should be corrected or narrative must be provided explaining why the exception(s) should be considered appropriate.
Warning. CDE accepts it with an explanation entered in the TRC explanations.
What it means
A function that isn't allowed in that fund (funds other than 01, 09 and 62)
The fund by function matrix limits which functions can carry activity in each fund. For funds outside the general fund family, an invalid pairing is a warning.
Why it fires
The usual causes
- Instructional or pupil services functions in a capital or debt fund
- A fund segment error on an otherwise correct string
How to fix it
The repair
- Recode the function to one the fund allows, or move the entry to the right fund.
- Explain the exception if the coding is deliberate.
