CONTRIB-UNREST-REVFatal (F)
Contributions from unrestricted revenues don't net to zero
CDE's wordingContributions from Unrestricted Revenues (Object 8980) do not net to zero by fund.
Fatal. The Official Export will not run until it is cleared.
What it means
Contributions from unrestricted revenues don't net to zero
Object 8980 moves unrestricted money into a restricted resource. Within a fund, every contribution into a resource needs the same amount as a negative 8980 in the unrestricted resource, so the object nets to zero.
Why it fires
The usual causes
- The contribution into special education, routine maintenance or a deficit resource was posted without the unrestricted side
- The two sides posted at different amounts
- One side posted to 8990 or to a transfer object
How to fix it
The repair
- List 8980 by resource within the fund; the net is the missing side.
- Post the offsetting negative 8980 in the unrestricted resource (or the positive side in the restricted one).
In SACS Pre-Flight
What the tool shows
Shows the net by fund and the offsetting entry that clears it.
