Interfund transfers in don't equal transfers out
CDE's wordingInterfund Transfers In (objects 8910-8929) do not equal Interfund Transfers Out (objects 7610-7629) for all funds.
Fatal. The Official Export will not run until it is cleared.
What it means
Interfund transfers in don't equal transfers out
Across all funds, Interfund Transfers In (8910-8929) must equal Interfund Transfers Out (7610-7629). A transfer is one movement recorded twice, once in each fund.
Why it fires
The usual causes
- The sending fund posted 7619 but the receiving fund never posted 8919
- The two sides posted at different amounts
- One side coded as revenue or expense instead of a transfer object
How to fix it
The repair
- Compare transfers out by fund to transfers in by fund; the difference is the entry missing or misposted.
- Post the missing side with the transfer object, not a revenue or expense object.
