INTRAFD-DIR-COSTFatal (F)
Direct cost transfers don't net to zero within a fund
CDE's wordingTransfers of Direct Costs (Object 5710) do not net to zero by fund.
Fatal. The Official Export will not run until it is cleared.
What it means
Direct cost transfers don't net to zero within a fund
Object 5710 moves direct costs between programs inside one fund. Within each fund the debits and credits must net to zero; a transfer that crosses funds belongs in 5750.
Why it fires
The usual causes
- The charge posted to one program and the credit never posted
- One side posted in a different fund (should be 5750)
- The credit posted to a different object
How to fix it
The repair
- List 5710 by fund; post the missing side in the same fund, or recode a cross-fund transfer to 5750 on both sides.
