CHECKFUNCTIONFatal (F)
A function code that isn't valid this year
CDE's wordingThe following codes for FUNCTION are not valid. Your general ledger data must be corrected and the data reimported.
Fatal. The Official Export will not run until it is cleared.
What it means
A function code that isn't valid this year
Each function is checked against CDE's list. Optional CDE-defined functions are valid; locally defined functions must roll up to the CDE function in the export.
Why it fires
The usual causes
- A local function that was never mapped to its CDE function
- A retired optional function
- A typo in the function segment
How to fix it
The repair
- Recode the rows or fix the crosswalk, re-extract, reimport.
- Check CHK-FUNCTIONxOBJECT and CHK-GOALxFUNCTION on the same rows once the function is valid.
